Global Leadership Initiatives for Youth aims to inspire middle and high school students to use their knowledge, skills, creativity, passion to make a difference both in local community and aboard. our membership spans seven different school districts in the Tri-Valley Area. Our Mission is to promote culture exchange, help bring underprivileged people toward a brighter future, and to create hope and change around the world.

President's Volunteer Service Award 

The application is due on August 31, 2022. Please send your applications in to and so that we can verify and send them to Washington D.C. Your volunteer hours must be logged and signed by an adult supervisor. For more detailed information, please visit

The eligibility requirements are listed below:

1. Recipients must be a United States citizen or a lawfully admitted permanent resident of the United States. 

2. Awards are issued for service hours served within a 12-month time period or over the course of a lifetime

3. Awards are issued for volunteer service only. Additional levels of participation with the organization (i.e. charitable support) are not a factor considered for the award. 

4. Court-ordered community service does not qualify for the award. 

5. Awards are issued by approved Certifying Organizations. 

6. Service must be with an organization that is legally established in the United States, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico or one of the territories 

7. Recipients must currently be in the 9th grade or above.

8. Teens (11-15 years old) must have 50 or more hours; Young Adults (16-25) must have 100 or more hours.

9. Recipients must have done volunteer work for at least two or more GLIFY-organized events, totaling of at least 20 hours (from 9/1/2021 - 8/31/2022).
