Face Shield Procedure

GLIFY Fitness Club Meets to Stay Healthy During Quarantine

The face shield project began in June of 2020. Project leaders Brighton Young, Kacie Hu, Justin Zhao, and Florence Lin came up with the designs, ordered materials and made how-to videos showing the crafting process. Project members pick up cut up materials and make face shields in their own homes. This way they still keep social distance while working as a team.

COVID-19 has been ravaging our world and the health risks are still prevalent in our community. This summer, about two dozens GLIFY members decided to make face shields and donate them to organizations that need such personal protective gear during their operation.

Recently, they donated finished projects to the Pleasanton Police Department, Open Heart Kitchen, Meals on Wheels for Seniors, Reutlinger Community Senior Center, FCSN, Creekview Health Center, Pleasanton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, The Parkview Assisted Living Center, Tre Vista Nursing Home Antioch, PUSD parent liaison for vulnerable families, and Manteca Kaiser urgent care center. Feedback from these organizations has been very favorable and all volunteers are enthusiastic about their work. The project will continue throughout the summer and the fall.
