On July 10th, 2021, eight GLIFY members went to the Sausal Creek Native Plant Nursery in Oakland, California. They helped restore the habitat of the creek by pulling invasive weeds indigenous to South Africa which were brought over to two UC schools for study and escaped the labs and spread across the East Bay. The volunteers also washed pots, moved plants between pots, and helped collect the seeds of native plants.

The Native Plant Nursery project is led by Jason Ma and runs once every two weeks on Saturdays and some Wednesdays.

Volunteers include: Jason Ma, Ephrem Goh, Lawrence Zhang, Alan Liu, Angelina Ma, Yichi Zhang, and Joyce Chen.
